Thank you Arthur for being #8.
Arthur - The Beach Cleaner This is Arthur, he was with Roger (#7) looking around the Brooklands Austin & Morris Day cars. He tells me he is a beach cleaner down at Havant although his services are not always needed during the winter.
Thank you Arthur for being #8.

Roger - The Classic Car Fan Went to Brooklands Museum yesterday for the Austin & Morris Day. Took my Morris Minor Traveller and met up with some of the MorrisMinorOwners.co.uk members.
Early on I spotted my potential Strangers #7 & 8. This is #7, Roger, a keen classic car follower. He told me his locks were to be removed as part of a fund raising effort for Comic Relief. Well done sir! Thank you Roger for being #7. Man Hug Westcombe Park RFC v Gravesend RFC After a losing run of 4 games Westcombe Park RFC ran out 28-17 winners against Gravesend. This snap was the best of a bunch I took during the game. The scrum was just 6 feet away from me! I have entered this and Stranger #1 into the Orpington Photographic Society final round of Mono Prints. Fingers crossed...
Bouba - The Bracelet Maker Today I walked from Waterloo East, along the South Bank, around the Tate Modern, over The Millennium Bridge, past St Paul's, along The Strand, up Charing Cross Road to Oxford Street, back down via China Town, through the National Gallery and into Trafalgar Square where I met Bouba.
We were both laughing at one of the many Yoda's that now populate the Square that had taken a break. The mask and robe was draped over the levitational frame and made Yoda look very thin. Bouba was in the Square making colourful string bracelets. Thank you Bouba for being #6. Ivan - The Dog Walker I went down to Deal in Kent today to see what could be seen along the beach. I bumped into Ivan and his lovely Blue Merle Collie, Tilly. She gave me the impression she would run for her ball all day...
Thank you Ivan & Tilly for being #5. Ted ~ The Doorman Ted's smile needed capturing I just wished the light was better. It was getting on in the afternoon and the setting sun was blinding everyone walking west. This made the area outside the front door of the Waldorf Hilton a little gloomy. Truth be known I think I rushed the shot. Sorry Ted...
Thank you Ted for being #4. Andrea ~ From Milan Gaia (#2) and Andrea where trying to find their accommodation in Southwark. Old habits die hard so I made sure they found it.
Thanks Andrea for being #3. Gaia ~ From Milan Gaia and Andrea (#3) where trying to find their accommodation in Southwark. Old habits die hard so I made sure they found it.
Thanks Gaia for being #2. 11 Million Bricks. The Ouse Valley Viaduct. It was hard to pick this months favourite but here it is. The lady was just a passing rambler who was willing to jump up onto the structure so that I could get some scale. An amazing example of Victorian architecture which still carries over 100 trains per day.
Tom ~ The Treasure Hunter Today I walked along the Thames foreshore during a very low tide. I went down the steps just next to The Globe, walked under the Millennium Bridge and just before Blackfriars Bridge I meet two treasure hunters, Tom and Alan. After a short chat about their hobby Tom showed me a very old coin he had found earlier in the day. He kindly allowed me to take is portrait so that I could kick start my Strangers Project.
As I continued to walk along the foreshore I started to pay more attention to the ground below my feet and within a few yards I found a broken clay pipe. I returned to Tom and Alan and they told me it was a good find considering it has the Royal crest imprinted on it and the makers initials. They suggested it could be from the mid 1700's. I will investigate more! I continued walking along as far as the OXO Tower with my eyes firmly fixed to the ground. Thank you Tom for being #1, I really appreciate you helping me out. |
My BlogThis started as a Strangers Project but I didn't find that too challenging, plus I got distracted doing my LRPS. Archives
